The Beckenham Amateur Dramatic Society is the oldest in the borough, having been founded in 1923 by Martin Lewis, himself a distinguished professional actor.
The Society presents three plays a year, in November, February and May, at the Public Hall in Beckenham. Rehearsals, which are generally arranged to suit the convenience of both the Director and cast members, are held at the HSBC Sports Club in Lennard Road, next to New Beckenham station.
The annual subscription (currently £20) includes one free ticket for each production. Other activities include play-readings, visits to the theatre, parties etc.
New members, whether as actors, backstage staff, general helpers or merely as audience members should apply to the Secretary for an application form.
